Masks keep us from being ourselves we are told. Masks are fake, inauthentic and should be removed unless some carnival is going on. If we can’t talk to people about something it is assumed to be bad.
However sometimes masks are like the earth that
protects a seed that is too young to be exposed to anything but darkness. It is too fragile to be exposed to questions, even well intended ones. Sometimes we need something to grow inside of us in an environment of silence. Once roots have grown and it’s ready to see the light we will feel that our mask is broken open from within. It’s ready to be removed.
