Gogglebox. Watching people watching TV. It’s not easy to think of anything more boring to watch. Until they watch
a popular hospital soap where the character wants to ‘end life on her own terms once the illness gets really bad’. Suddenly the Goggleboxers start discussing live and death issues. Critics, literary writers and art film makers probably don’t like to hear this but anything can start a healthy discussion or an important train of thought. Sure some books and movies are more designed to do that than others. It’s all about how we engage with what we see and do… but even the biggest trash can make us better people.
