If we were honest we knew that we can’t or don’t want to keep certain habits up. So we stop doing the thing and then feel guilty about it. This guilt is not only very unlikely to fuel your habit for years, it’s actively keeping you from finding a solution that might work better. For example not everybody is into running for various reasons yet since it’s THE cardio workout people just take it up anyway. If you never get anything except better fitness out of it just try other options: cycling, swimming, rollerblading, stand-up paddling and even dancing can be real work-outs.
